New Zealand Minibeasts

Before we head off on our trip to the beautiful Waitakere Forest, we thought we better find out about some of the animals we would see.

No, the big mammals for us but the tiny invertebrates. The most fascinating New Zealand native we researched was the weta.

We are hoping to see some real ones when we go on our trip!

Sustainability - Aleluia

 The children have been working on the iPads to display their knowledge about this half term's topic of Sustainability. They used the app Strip Designer to create factual poster pages.   Check out some of their work below.

We have solar panels at school which help PCS be a little bit more sustainable
To make lots of electricity, power companies create wind farms with dozens of huge wind turbines

Volcanoes and geysers are examples of geothermal energy
Hydropower is not a new thing - it has been used to grind corn for thousands of years
